An information hour dedicated to the “Samarkand Summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization” was held in our department. During the information hour, associate professors of our department, Ph.D. Niyazova T.A. and Ph.D. Rakhmatullaeva Sh.B. read a lecture. The event was attended by 5th year students of the Faculty of Medicine, 4th year students of the Faculty of Medicine and Prevention, professors and teachers, as well as all interested employees of the clinic.
The event began with the following words of our esteemed President Sh.M. Mirziyoyev:
“The chairmanship of Uzbekistan in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization coincided with a special period of “historical development”, during which intensive processes are taking place on a global scale – a historical era ends and a new era begins, which is difficult to predict.
The ongoing armed conflicts in different parts of the world disrupt trade and investment flows, exacerbate food and energy security.”
Indeed, we are now living in a time of rapid development. The importance of cooperation is extremely important in order to avoid spiritual ruptures that may arise during the transition from one era to another.
In his speech, the Respected President defined the impact of the global changes taking place in our nature on the life of society, and emphasized that medicine is extremely relevant among them, especially in the field of infectious diseases:
“At the same time, global climate change, growing scarcity of natural resources and water resources, damage to biodiversity and the spread of dangerous infectious diseases are making our societies more vulnerable. These problems lead to the erosion of universal values and benefits directly related to the fate of mankind, threaten the lives and activities of people, and reduce the sources of their income.
In this challenging environment, one truth is clear: no country can avoid or overcome these global threats alone.
Effective international cooperation is the most important factor for stable, secure and prosperous development in the world. This approach is the most accurate, optimal and effective way to jointly solve the pressing problems of our time, protect against new dangers and social upheavals.”
At the event, our teachers told students about the “Model of successful regional cooperation”, that the chairmanship of Uzbekistan in the SCO is one of the great achievements of our country, and the “Spirit of Samarkand” is an expression of cooperation, mutual understanding and friendship.
The event was very interesting and left a strong imprint of the spirit of patriotism in the hearts of all participants.
