The President signed the Law on August 25, 2017 “On the Establishment of the Day of Youth of the Republic of Uzbekistan”. The document is published on the website of the head of state.
The law was adopted by the Legislative Chamber on August 14, approved by the Senate on August 24, 2017. According to the document, June 30 was announced in the country as Youth Day.
The Youth Union of Uzbekistan is a nongovernment noncommercial organization established by physical bodies as the Union by its organizational and legislative formation with the aim to form a physically healthy, spiritually mature, intellectually developed and independent thinking younger generation, protect young people from external threats and harmful effects of “mass culture” as well as protect their rights and legal interests and providing them support and better conditions.
Goals and tasks:
The main purpose of the organization is to provide young people with democratic, political, and further economic reforms, peace and harmony in society and independence, the entry of Uzbekistan to the world’s most advanced, freedoms and legitimate rights of the younger generation ensuring the effective protection of their interests, the spiritual and professional qualities of youth to raise their level of intellectual and creative abilities.
The main tasks of the organization are:
– Formation capability of decisive power and support in the processes of renovation, upgrading their political culture, legal literacy and legal consciousness, having legal voice, independence, self-centered belief;
– Education of young people, in particular unoccupied youth, spiritually-moral and military patriotic, with their historical memory, national pride and self-consciousness, involvement in the ongoing events, and respect for national and universal values;
– Protection of the rights and legitimate interests of youth, their aspiration to occupy a modern profession, engagement in entrepreneurial activities;
– Support of talented youth, realization of their creative and intellectual potential by creating conditions for research and involvement in scientific activities;
– Formation of a healthy lifestyle, ecofriendly culture among young people, especially young unmarried youth, and their involvement in regular physical training and sports;
– Protecting young people, especially unoccupied ones from religious extremist and other destructive organizations, protecting them against negative influences and threats from abroad, “mass culture”, prevention and suppression of crime among youth, etc.
